Culross is a deliberate timewarp, being under a conservation programme run by the National Trust for Scotland since the 1930s.

A thriving community in the 16th and 17th centuries it is still very much as it was then with well-preserved architecture which demonstrates the strong Flemish influence.

The Town House was built in 1626 and the clock tower added in 1783. This pen/ink sketch dates from circa 1975
