The artist was at St Leonard's Place overlooking South Overgate when he painted this view across to Inchkeith in 1951. The hills behind Edinburgh are faintly discernible. The building in the centre is the old Masonic Hall and the chimney stack to the left marks the spot where the old gasworks were
