The Wee Mary lasted from 1872 (the sinking of the first shaft) through to the Second World War. It was owned by the Lochgelly Iron and Coal Company
The Wee Mary at Lochgelly (as opposed to the Fife Coal Company Mary Pit at Lochore) worked with the Nellie Pit and collectively they were known as the 'Lochgelly Colliery'. The Nellie continued working until 1965.
